KATHMANDU: The grandly executed ‘Kathmandu Chronicles’, organized in collaboration between MQube Nepal and BYD, was successfully concluded at Marriott Kathmandu, Naxal, celebrating a vibrant fusion of culture, collaboration, and exploration.
The initiative showcased Nepal as a fresh and compelling destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE), elevating the country’s profile in the global business tourism arena.
Conceived as a signature MQube Nepal event, the program extended beyond traditional conference halls to immerse participants in the living heritage and culture of Nepal.
Designed specifically for Marriott’s MICE clientele, the initiative enabled participants to experience a unique blend of Nepal’s heritage and adventure, transforming the city itself into a dynamic venue.
Breaking the boundaries of conventional meetings, MQube Nepal staged the event in the heart of Kathmandu. ‘Kathmandu Chronicles’ was structured as a treasure hunt, offering participants the chance to sightsee, understand local culture, and engage in team-based activities simultaneously.
Participants departed from Marriott Kathmandu in BYD vehicles and explored Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, and Swayambhunath, among other heritage sites.
At each landmark, teams solved riddles, completed cultural challenges, and experienced the hidden stories and history of the city in an engaging, interactive way.
Each phase of the journey provided fun, adventurous experiences, and a unique sense of Kathmandu’s historical legacy.
The program sent a strong message that Nepal is not only a venue for meetings but also a destination where business, culture, and immersive experiences converge.
The adventure-themed program concluded at Fairfield by Marriott Kathmandu with a grand celebration and awards ceremony, where the winning team was honored with the title ‘Kathmandu Explorers’.
Speaking about the event, Arun Kumar, Vice Chair – Marketing for North India, Nepal, and Bhutan at Marriott International, highlighted that ‘Kathmandu Chronicles’ presented the city’s heritage and culture in a unique, experiential format, far beyond the usual meeting setup.
He emphasized that the event, in collaboration with MQube and BYD, demonstrated Nepal’s position as a special destination for both business and exploration. “Marriott believes that true hospitality lies in creating meaningful experiences. This program clearly showcased Nepal as a distinctive destination for business and adventure alike,” he said.
The partnership among MQube, BYD, and Marriott successfully merged innovation, hospitality, and heritage into a single, holistic experience.
‘Kathmandu Chronicles’ not only elevated MQube Nepal 2025 to new heights but also set a benchmark for the MICE industry, demonstrating how culture, sustainability, and adventure can be seamlessly integrated into business events.
