KATHMANDU: Ishan Kishan smashed a brilliant half-century to propel India to a formidable total of 209 for 9 against Namibia in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 on Thursday.

After winning the toss, Namibia opted to field first, inviting India to bat.

The decision, however, was met with an explosive response from the Indian top order.

Kishan led the charge with a scintillating 61 off just 24 balls, hammering six fours and five sixes in a breathtaking display of power-hitting.

His aggressive knock laid a solid foundation for a big total.

Sanju Samson contributed 22 runs, while Tilak Varma added 25 to keep the momentum going in the middle overs.

Toward the end, Hardik Pandya delivered a strong finishing touch, smashing 52 off 28 balls.

Shivam Dube also chipped in with a quick 23 from 16 deliveries to push India past the 200-run mark.

For Namibia, skipper Gerhard Erasmus was the standout bowler, claiming an impressive 4 wickets for just 20 runs to keep India from running away with an even bigger total.

Namibia now face a daunting 210-run target to secure victory.

Namibia will need a strong start and sustained partnerships to stay in contention against India’s disciplined bowling attack.
