ICT Minister Kharel resigns, cites political engagement as reason

KATHMANDU: Communications and Information Technology Minister Jagdish Kharel has submitted his resignation.

In his resignation letter, Minister Kharel stated that he decided to step down before entering the realm of party politics to ensure that the independent identity of the current government remains unaffected.
“I have concluded that, in view of the nation’s current needs, the long-term strengthening of the democratic system, and public expectations, it is desirable for me to take an active and responsible role through party politics. Therefore, to prevent any impact on the independent identity of the present government, I have decided to resign from my position,” he wrote in the letter.
