KATHMANDU: House of Representatives is scheduled to meet at 1:00 PM today, with key budget discussions high on the agenda.

According to the parliamentary schedule, Speaker DP Aryal will read out a communication received from the President’s Office regarding the authentication of a bill.

Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle is also set to present a proposal, along with a statement, to initiate general discussions on the Annual Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure for the fiscal year 2083/84.

The House is expected to begin deliberations on the national budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

However, uncertainty remains over whether the session will proceed smoothly.

Opposition parties have maintained their stance that parliamentary proceedings should not move forward until Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s controversial remarks regarding the Nepal–India border are removed from the official record.

With no agreement yet reached between the ruling coalition and opposition parties on ending the deadlock, doubts persist over the uninterrupted functioning of today’s parliamentary session.
