KATHMANDU: The government has completed the updated listing of individuals injured during the Gen Z movement, with the Ministry of Health and Population adding 22 new verified names in the latest update.

According to Dr. Prakash Budhathoki, Chief of the Health Emergency Operation Center, out of 250 newly submitted names, only 22 were officially confirmed as injured under the ministry’s verification standards.

“With the formation of the new government after the elections, we received 250 names from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and other sources,” Dr. Budhathoki said. “However, only 22 individuals met the ministry’s criteria and were officially listed after verification.”

He explained that the verification process was based on hospital records from Bhadra 23 and 24 (early September), and confirmation from hospital authorities before inclusion in the official list.

During the Gen-Z movement, injured individuals were treated across 99 hospitals nationwide.

With the latest update, the total number of officially recognized injured individuals in the movement has reached 2,660.

The newly verified list of 22 individuals has already been forwarded to the Ministry of Home Affairs, he added. Those recognized as injured are eligible for government support, including educational quotas, employment opportunities, and medical treatment facilities.
