KATHMANDU: The Government of Nepal has announced plans to review the Constitution and strengthen the federal democratic republican system of governance.

Presenting the government’s policy and programs for the upcoming fiscal year on Friday, President Ramchandra Paudel said the government is committed to reinforcing the Constitution and taking a firm stand against any form of regressive, revivalist, or anarchic activities.

The review will focus on enhancing the strengths of the Constitution and addressing shortcomings observed during its implementation.

President Paudel emphasized that the process will move forward through political consensus and necessary amendments.

He further stated that while ensuring political stability, the government also aims to guarantee policy consistency and good governance.
