Wagle to respond to budget queries on behalf of PM Shah in Parliament
KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle is set to respond to questions raised during the parliamentary deliberations on the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84, speaking on behalf of Prime Minister Balen Shah.
According to the parliamentary schedule, Wagle will address lawmakers’ concerns during discussions on the Appropriation Bill, including issues related to the Ministry of Defence, which is currently under the Prime Minister’s direct charge.
Normally, responses to queries on such portfolios are delivered by the Prime Minister himself.
Similarly, questions raised on allocations concerning the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the National Planning Commission Secretariat, the Office of the President, and the Office of the Vice-President are also expected to be answered by the Finance Minister on behalf of the Prime Minister.
Wagle will also respond separately to issues raised during the discussion on the Ministry of Finance.
This is not the first instance of such delegation, as he had earlier represented the Prime Minister during deliberations on the government’s policy and programme in Parliament.
