Govt raises civil servants’ salary by 10%

KATHMANDU: The government has announced a hike in the salaries of civil servants, increasing the pay scale by 10 percent.
Presenting the budget for the upcoming fiscal year in a joint session of the Federal Parliament, Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle stated that the minimum salary for government employees will now range from Rs 40,000 to over Rs 100,000, depending on the pay scale.
He further informed that a 10 percent increment has been applied to the starting salary scale.
In addition, a new system has been introduced under which employees will receive a monthly performance-based incentive allowance equal to 10 percent of their salary, aiming to link remuneration with work efficiency and productivity.
