KATHMANDU: The domestic bullion market witnessed a sharp rise in prices on Wednesday, with both gold and silver recording significant gains compared to the previous trading day.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of Chhapawal gold increased by Rs 5,800 per tola, reaching Rs 296,800.

Similarly, silver rose by Rs 175 per tola, with the price settling at Rs 5,055.

On Tuesday, gold was traded at Rs 291,000 per tola, while silver stood at Rs 4,880 per tola, indicating a notable single-day surge in both precious metals.

In the international market, gold is currently being traded at around USD 4,630 per ounce, while silver is priced at approximately USD 74 per ounce, according to global media reports.
