Gold & silver prices surge; silver hits record high

KATHMANDU: On Thursday, both gold and silver prices rose in the Nepali market, with silver reaching an all-time high and gold nearing its peak.

According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Traders’ Association, the price of official gold has been set at Rs 260,400 per tola on Thursday, up by Rs 700 from Wednesday’s rate of Rs 259,700 per tola.

Gold had touched its highest level of Rs 260,700 per tola earlier this week on Monday.

Today’s price is just Rs 300 below that historic record.

Meanwhile, silver prices marked a new milestone, rising by Rs 25 to Rs 4,080 per tola, compared to Wednesday’s rate of Rs 4,055.

Silver has been recording consecutive daily highs over the past two days.
