Fugitive with interpol red notice nabbed in UAE

KATHMANDU: Javed Anwardeen, a fugitive wanted in cases of fraud, criminal breach of trust, illicit gains, and organized crime, has been arrested in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and returned to Nepal.

According to the Central Police News Desk, Anwardeen, a resident of Baglung Municipality-2, Srinagar, was apprehended in coordination with the UAE authorities by Nepal’s Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Abu Dhabi.

Interpol had issued a Red Notice for his arrest on 8 Bhadra 2077 following a request from the Interpol Branch of Nepal Police to trace and apprehend him internationally.

Anwardeen has now been handed over to the Central Investigation Bureau for necessary investigation and legal proceedings.
