Former King Gyanendra to meet public on his 79th birthday
According to a press statement issued by the former King’s press secretariat, the public will be allowed to visit Nirmal Niwas between 11 AM and 2 PM on the birthday.
KATHMANDU: Former King Gyanendra Shah will be meeting the public and well-wishers on the occasion of his 79th birthday, which falls on Asar 23.
Marking the annual celebration, the former monarch will open the gates of his private residence, Nirmal Niwas, for a ceremonial gathering.
According to a press statement issued by the former King’s press secretariat, the public will be allowed to visit Nirmal Niwas between 11 AM and 2 PM on the birthday.
The statement, signed by spokesperson Dr. Phaniraj Pathak, mentions that the program is being organized in response to public interest.
“The event will provide an opportunity for the general public, well-wishers, and various organizations to offer birthday greetings and receive blessings from His Majesty,” the statement reads.
Former King Gyanendra has been continuing the tradition of personally meeting citizens and supporters during his birthday celebrations each year.
