Former IGP Sarvendra Khanal entering UML

KATHMANDU: Sarvendra Khanal, the former Inspector General of Nepal Police, is joining the CPN-UML. Party Chairperson KP Sharma Oli will greet him at UML today in a program held at the UML party office in Chyasal.
He has been a member of the Nepali Congress, which is affiliated with the Nepal Student Union, since he was a student at Amrit Science College, but he is now joining the UML.
Khanal stated that, with the collapse of the five-party alliance, he desired to remain politically active. “I wanted to be active in politics after seeing the collapse of the five-party alliance,” he said.
He claims that the UML will experience a surge in the Nov 20 elections. He claims that he will also play a role in bringing the UML wave. He claims that other parties have no youth outreach program.
