FM Khanal hints at retirement ahead of new govt

KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal has indicated that his time for a break has arrived.

Speaking at the annual celebration of the Nepal Citizen Investment Fund, Minister Khanal noted that a new government could be formed next week.

He added that once the Election Commission issues certificates to proportional representation lawmakers on Thursday, the constitutional process will allow the new government to move ahead swiftly.

Minister Khanal expressed hope that the incoming government, backed by a strong majority, will be able to address external challenges while ensuring progress in overall economic indicators.
