Flight to Dhangadhi returns to Kathmandu at midnight
There were 80 passengers on board, including crew members.
KATHMANDU: A Shree Airlines aircraft flying from Kathmandu to Dhangadhi was forced to return to Kathmandu around midnight after being unable to land at its destination.
Passengers were left stranded after the aircraft failed to land despite several attempts at Dhangadhi Airport.
Journalist Royal Acharya, who was among the passengers, said travelers expressed dissatisfaction at the airport after the flight returned to Kathmandu.
According to Shree Airlines staff member Sagar Paudel, passengers who wish to cancel their journey will be refunded in full, while those who still plan to travel will be accommodated on a Shree Airlines flight to Dhangadhi scheduled for Tuesday morning.
The aircraft had departed from Kathmandu at 9:45 PM.
However, repeated landing attempts at Dhangadhi Airport were unsuccessful due to unfavorable conditions, forcing the plane to return to Kathmandu at around 12:00 AM.
There were 80 passengers on board, including crew members.
