Dr. Thapliya elected Chair of Nepal Export Council
Hariprasad Dhakal and Hari Dhakal were elected as the first and second vice-chair, respectively.
KATHMANDU: Dr. Ram Sharan Thapliya has been elected as the chairman of the Nepal Export Council.
The council’s 28th Annual General Meeting, held on Wednesday, elected the new executive committee unanimously under his leadership.
Hariprasad Dhakal and Hari Dhakal were elected as the first and second vice-chair, respectively.
Basanta Raj Adhikari was appointed secretary-general, Raju Baniya as treasurer, Amritman Shrestha as secretary, and Harisharan Bhetwal as co-treasurer.
The council promotes the export of Nepali products including handicrafts, felt, metal items, garments, traditional Dhaka fabrics, and woolen handcrafts.
In fiscal year 2081/82, Nepal exported goods worth Rs 2.77 trillion, while exports in the first four months of the current fiscal year reached Rs 9.35 billion.
