KATHMANDU: Kailali Customs Office Chief Officer Ananta Timilsina has filed a formal complaint alleging that he was assaulted by Municipal Police Inspector Laxman Singh Dhami.

According to police, Dhami remained in communication until Sunday afternoon but switched off his mobile phone afterward, making him unreachable.
The Kailali District Police Office has intensified the search for the fugitive officer.
The complaint, lodged by Timilsina, accuses Dhami and four other municipal police personnel of misconduct and physical assault.
The alleged incident took place around 10 PM on Saturday when Inspector Dhami and his team reportedly entered the customs office premises and physically assaulted Chief Timilsina.
While Dhami initially denied any involvement, CCTV footage later surfaced showing him and his team at the scene.
Following the release of the footage, he went into hiding, sources said.
In response to the incident, the Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City has issued a 24-hour explanation notice to Inspector Dhami, citing a breach of professional conduct.
Police have confirmed that efforts to locate the fugitive officer are ongoing, and a detailed investigation is underway.
