Curfew imposes in Tinkune

KATHMANDU: Amid rising incidents of arson targeting private homes, businesses, hotels, and government properties, the Kathmandu District Administration Office has imposed a curfew in the Tinkune area.
According to sources, the decision was made after increasing lawlessness, with security forces and fire brigades coming under attack.
The situation escalated to a point where imposing a curfew was deemed necessary to regain control.
The decision to impose the curfew came after a discussion involving Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, Inspector General of Police Deepak Thapa, and Kathmandu’s Chief District Officer Rishiram Tiwari.
Assistant Chief District Officer Ashok Kumar Bhattarai, who also serves as the Information Officer for the Kathmandu District Administration Office, stated that official notifications would be uploaded soon.
Separately, royalist groups vandalized the office of the CPN (Unified Socialist) in Aloknagar, Kathmandu.
Protesters also attempted to attack and vandalize the Maoist Party office in Parisdanda.
Furthermore, demonstrators engaged in violent acts, including vandalism and arson, at several houses in the Tinkune area.
Tensions soared when royalist protestors breached police barricades and advanced during a rally that had not yet concluded, escalating the situation dramatically.
