Court orders bail for 10, including Mahesh Basnet’s wife

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Court has ordered the release of 10 individuals, including Ambika Basnet, the wife of CPN-UML Secretary Mahesh Basnet, on bail in connection with an attempted murder case.

A single bench of Judge Mahendra Bahadur Karki issued the ruling on Thursday, setting bail at Rs 50,000 each for Ambika Basnet and Sharmila Basnet, and Rs 25,000 each for the remaining eight accused.

The case was filed by Shobha (Januka Pathak), who had alleged involvement in an attempted homicide.

Those also released on bail include Gita Pandit, Pragati Thapa, Sonu Baral, Januka Basnet, Rekha Neupane, Sabina K.C., Kamala Basnet, and Nita Khatri.
