Court grants 7-day extension for Bhatt & Agrawal

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Court has granted a seven-day extension for further investigation against businessmen Deepak Bhatt and Sulabh Agrawal.

The Department of Money Laundering Investigation had sought a 30-day extension while producing both individuals before the court.
However, the court permitted only a seven-day extension for further inquiry.
Earlier, Bhatt was arrested from Kathmandu on April 2 by the Department of Money Laundering Investigation in coordination with the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police.
Subsequently, Shanker Group Director Sulabh Agrawal was also arrested on April 5.
According to department sources, both individuals are under investigation for the same offence under money laundering-related charges.
