Congress orders formation of election committees

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has directed all party levels to immediately form various committees and structures to ensure the party’s victory in the upcoming elections scheduled for March.

According to the party office, formal instructions were issued on Tuesday to all provincial, district and House of Representatives constituency committees to constitute the required bodies for the effective mobilization of party ranks in the House of Representatives election set for March 5.

Issuing a statement, Nepali Congress Vice President and Coordinator of the Central Election Mobilization Committee, Bishwo Prakash Sharma, instructed the formation of key bodies including the Election Management Secretariat, Election Mobilization Main Committee, Election Publicity and Campaign Main Committee, and a special committee aimed at engaging youths aged 18 to 30.

Sharma also called for the formation of coordination and monitoring committees covering local governments, intellectual circles, religious institutions, the private sector, former migrant workers, local administration, and monitoring mechanisms.

He urged all concerned committees to submit their details to the party’s central office without delay.
