KATHMANDU: Popular Nepali comedy TV serial “Sakkigoni” actor Sagar Lamsal “Bale” has been accused of sexual assault.
On Friday morning, a young woman posted a detailed statement on Facebook claiming that she was sexually assaulted by Lamsal in the United States nearly a year ago.
The victim stated that she was already dealing with severe depression and anxiety, and was recovering at home after being discharged from the hospital when the incident occurred.
According to her, some people with long-standing connections to her family in Nepal had visited the U.S., and her family suggested she meet them to feel better.
The woman said she had known Lamsal, whom she considered a brotherly figure, for over a decade.
During a meeting, Lamsal reportedly offered to “show her a place to stay,” and she trusted him enough to invite him to her apartment.
In her Facebook post, the victim wrote, “I was crying and sharing my mental health struggles, but the person I considered a brother turned out to be a monster. I was raped.”
She explained that she had kept the incident secret for a long time due to family reputation and her mental health, but finally spoke out because she felt like a “living corpse” and wanted justice. She addressed Lamsal directly, asking, “How does it feel to destroy someone’s life?”
The victim emphasized that she shared her story publicly to ensure the perpetrator faces consequences and to prevent others from suffering similar abuse.
