CK Raut praises PM Balen Shah as ‘stylish, dashing leader’
Raut said Shah’s popularity transcends geographical and social divisions, claiming that people in the Himalayas, hills and Madhes hold deep affection for the prime minister.
KATHMANDU: Janamat Party Chair CK Raut heaped praise on Prime Minister Balen Shah while addressing the opening session of the Rastriya Swatantra Party’s (RSP) first national convention, describing him as a “stylish, dashing and intelligent” leader admired across Nepal.
Speaking at the convention, Raut said Shah’s popularity transcends geographical and social divisions, claiming that people in the Himalayas, hills and Madhes hold deep affection for the prime minister.
Praising Shah’s trademark black attire, Raut drew a comparison with legendary Indian actor Dev Anand, joking that Nepal’s opposition might one day demand a law preventing the prime minister from wearing black clothes.
“Dev Anand was once discouraged from wearing black in India. In our country, it would not be surprising if the opposition demanded a law banning the prime minister from wearing black,” Raut remarked.
He further said the public’s affection for Shah is unprecedented in Nepal’s history.
“We have found a smart, dashing and intelligent young prime minister. Our prime minister is on a different level. He thinks beyond problems and focuses on how to create solutions,” Raut said.
Raut also thanked the RSP for helping make “a son of the Madhesh” the country’s prime minister, saying that was one of the reasons he chose to attend the party’s convention.
