Citizens Bank launches ‘Gen Z Savings Account’ for young customers

KATHMANDU: Citizens Bank International Limited has launched a new savings account, the Citizens Gen Z Savings Account, specifically targeting young customers.

The bank aims to provide financial solutions tailored to the lifestyle needs of students, freelancers, content creators, young entrepreneurs, and other digitally active communities.
The Gen Z Savings Account can be opened with a minimum balance of just Rs 100 and offers an annual interest rate of 3.02%.
To simplify banking for young customers, essential services such as checkbooks, Demat accounts, C-ASBA commission, and C-ASBA registration will be provided free of charge for the first year.
To encourage digital banking, the bank has introduced a special bundled package that includes an ATM card, mobile banking, e-Comm card, and internet banking, available for only Rs 500 when all four services are taken together.
This package ensures young customers gain full access to digital banking at minimal cost.
Additional benefits include a 50% discount on travel card issuance charges and a personalized digital experience through a dedicated Gen Z dashboard on mobile banking. Users will also enjoy 25% cashback on their first mobile top-up.
The bank expects the Citizens Gen Z Savings Account to meet the financial needs of young Nepalese while promoting greater engagement with digital financial services.
