Citizens Bank declares 5% bonus share, 0.26% cash dividend for FY 2081/82
The meeting approved the bank’s annual report, financial statements, and auditor’s report for the fiscal year 2081/82.
KATHMANDU: Citizens Bank International Limited held its 19th Annual General Meeting (AGM) today, Friday, at Anupam Foodland & Banquet, Battisputali, Kathmandu, chaired by the bank’s Chair, Prabal Jung Pandey.
The meeting approved the bank’s annual report, financial statements, and auditor’s report for the fiscal year 2081/82.
The AGM also approved the distribution of 5% bonus shares worth Rs 738.45 crore and a cash dividend of 0.263% totaling Rs 38.88 crore for tax purposes.
The total dividend amounts to Rs 777.31 crore. Citizens Bank has consistently distributed dividends since FY 2065/66, with an average 19-year dividend of 10.40%.
Chairman Pandey assured shareholders that the bank will continue to strengthen its operations by implementing received suggestions and enhancing institutional governance and compliance.
The bank also highlighted its recent achievements, including being named “Bank of the Year 2024.” Citizens Bank launched Nepal’s first virtual credit card, the ‘Citizens PhonePe Credit Card,’ in partnership with PhonePe. The bank has also introduced youth-focused ‘Citizens Gen-Z Savings Account,’ integrated digital services through ‘Citizens Digi Bank,’ and a freelancer savings account.
For the first time in Nepal, customers can apply for shares (ASBA) and CRN services through the mobile banking app.
Additionally, through cross-bank teller services, customers of other banks can receive cash at Citizens Bank branches by scanning a QR code.
Citizens Bank currently operates 200 branches, 169 ATMs, 3 extended counters, and 42 branchless banking units across 61 districts, serving over 1.95 million customers.
