A meeting of the Central Security Committee held on Thursday took the decision, according to Joint Spokesperson of the Home Ministry, Rama Acharya.
She said the move was aimed at ensuring the safety of candidates during the election period.
The meeting was attended by Home Secretary Raj Kumar Shrestha, Inspector General of Nepal Police Dan Bahadur Karki, Inspector General of Armed Police Force Raju Aryal, the Chief of the National Investigation Department, and representatives of the Nepal Army.
The committee also discussed upcoming election activities and reviewed overall security preparations, officials said.
