Australia sets 183 target for Ireland

KATHMANDU: Australia, one of the strong title contenders, made their debut in the 2026 T20 World Cup on Wednesday.

In Group B action in Colombo, they batted first against Ireland and posted a target of 183 runs.

After winning the toss, Australia opted to bat and finished at 182/6. No batsman played a big innings individually, with contributions from Jos Inglis (37), Cameron Green (21), Matthew Rens (37), and Marcus Stoinis (45). Stoinis faced 29 balls, hitting two fours and a six.

For Ireland, Mark Adair took two wickets.
