KATHMANDU: Nepali-origin scholar Ashish Bista has been officially recognized for setting seven world records in academic achievement, earning global recognition for his exceptional educational accomplishments.

Currently residing in Perth, Australia, Bista has been awarded formal recognition by the London-based World Book of Records for his outstanding achievements in postgraduate and professional education.

With this recognition, he is now regarded as one of the most highly academically honored individuals globally.

According to the certification body, Bista’s records reflect extraordinary milestones in professional accreditation, multidisciplinary expertise, and rapid completion of advanced degrees within remarkably short timeframes.

Among his key achievements are:

  • Completion of five advanced degrees from four countries within just 6 years and 6 months
  • Earning four advanced degrees in 40 months
  • Completing three advanced degrees, including a master’s and a doctorate in two different fields, within 1 year and 6 months
  • Simultaneous completion of a doctorate and a master’s degree in just 17 months

Three of his records have also been awarded the prestigious “Certificate of Eminence” by the World Book of Records.

The verification process reportedly included extensive review of his academic certificates, professional qualifications, and independent legal validation conducted over several months.

Bista holds qualifications including a PhD in Astrology, a Master’s in Astrology, an MSc in Accounting and Finance from the UK, a Master’s in Accounting from Australia, and the FCCA (Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant) designation.

His academic journey spans Nepal, India, the United Kingdom, and Australia. After a decade-long break from formal education, he resumed his studies and completed ACCA within just over two years before going on to achieve multiple higher degrees.

Reflecting on his journey, Bista said: “Returning to studies after a decade was not easy. But I believed that if I stayed focused and worked hard, results would follow.”

With these achievements, Bista’s seven world records surpass previously recorded benchmarks in secondary and higher education categories.

He is currently working as a researcher and educator and remains active in sharing insights on education, finance, and astrology with an international audience through social media platforms.
