Abandoned newborn rescued from Itahari forest

KATHMANDU: A newborn baby was rescued on Saturday morning after being found abandoned in a forest area at Tarahara in Itahari.
According to local sources, a woman who had gone to cut grass in the jungle spotted something unusual near a bush.
As she moved closer, she discovered a recently born infant left alone in the cold and deserted area.
She immediately informed the police, who rushed to the scene and carefully rescued the baby.
The infant was then taken to a local hospital in Itahari for medical treatment and examination.
Doctors said the baby’s health condition is currently normal, adding that timely rescue helped prevent possible danger.
After completing the necessary legal procedures, the baby was handed over through the Area Police Office Itahari to a shelter home for vulnerable children.
The child has now been placed under the care of a children’s service orphanage in Itahari-4, where the baby is expected to receive protection, care, and affection.
