2,200 drivers booked for traffic violations in 24 hours
Similarly, 137 motorists were booked for signal light violations, and 152 were penalized for overspeeding.
KATHMANDU: A total of 2,200 drivers were taken into legal action in the past 24 hours for violating traffic rules, resulting in Rs 2.039 million in government revenue, according to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office.
Among those penalized, 168 were caught driving under the influence of alcohol, while 155 were found operating ride-sharing services in violation of regulations.
Similarly, 137 motorists were booked for signal light violations, and 152 were penalized for overspeeding.
Traffic police also took action against 102 drivers for lane discipline violations, 178 for unnecessary horn use in restricted zones, and 123 for illegal roadside parking.
In addition, 113 were booked for driving on one-way roads, while the largest group—1,072 drivers—were penalized for various other traffic rule violations.
