34 local posts vacant; voters urged to register & update electoral roll

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) is preparing to conduct by-elections for vacant positions at the local level.

According to the EC, there are 34 vacant positions across all 7 states.

These vacancies include positions of municipal mayors and deputy mayors, as well as chairpersons and deputy chairpersons of rural municipalities and ward chairs.

To facilitate this, the EC has urged voters to register and update their names in the electoral roll.
