KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Court has granted an additional four days of custody for Bechan Jha, allowing the police to continue their investigation into his alleged role in the fake Bhutanese refugee scam.

Presided over by Judge Mahendra Raj Kafle, the court permitted the extended detention as authorities delve deeper into Jha’s involvement in the case.

Jha, who had been evading arrest, was apprehended in Kanchanpur on June 28. He is accused of acting as an intermediary, arranging meetings between brokers and high-level officials, including the Home Minister and the Secretary.
