KATHMANDU: UML has come forward again in the by-elections of Bajhang State Assembly-1, which has 6 municipalities.

Congress candidate Abhishek Bahadur Singh’s lead from Monday morning was broken by UML candidate Daman Bahadur Bhandari a few moments ago.

According to the latest results, he is leading by 9 votes. While Bhandari got 10,363 votes, Singh got 10 thousand 354 votes.

Janak Budha of Maoist got 3,663 votes and Dil Bahadur Singh of Unified Socialist Party got 2,405 votes. According to the Election Commission, 26,218 votes have been counted so far.

According to Prakash Bahadur Singh, Information Officer of the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, it is expected that the final vote results will be announced by Monday afternoon. 30,328 votes were cast in Saturday’s voting. There were candidates from 11 parties.

The by-election was held here after Prithvi Bahadur Singh, a member of the state assembly elected from the Congress in the 2079 election, died in a road accident. Congress candidate Singh is his son.
