‘RSP’ secures 1,400 votes as counting reaches 25,000 in Ilam

KATHMANDU: In Ilam-2, the counting of votes has been completed, with a total of 25,000 votes counted.

Among the 115,889 eligible voters in the region, 69,287 votes were cast. Of these, 25,712 votes were counted.

The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has received disappointing votes compared to their anticipated results.

Milan Yonhang Limbu failed to secure the expected votes, showing weaknesses even in his own ward.

Milan had hoped for a significant vote accumulation from Mangsebung, but he couldn’t even secure a hundred votes in his own ward.

He is also a voter of Ward No. 2 of Mangseung Rural Municipality.

In the final count of that ward, Milan secured only 96 votes.

In Mangsebung-2, Suhang Nemwang of the UML garnered the highest with 586 votes. Damar Khadka of the Congress stood second with 351 votes, followed by Identity-Centric Dakendrasim Thagim with 317 votes.

There is a difference of 235 votes between Nemwang and Khadka.

According to the latest results, Suhang Nemwang of the UML has secured 10,419 votes, while his rival Dambar Bahadur Khadka of the Congress has received 7,662 votes. There is a difference of 3,757 votes between them.

Independent candidate Dakendrasim Thagim received 5,753 votes, while RSP’s Milan Limbu garnered 1,451 votes.
