Congress surpasses UML in Bhajang, Abhishek takes lead by 264 votes

KATHMANDU: Abhishek Singh of Nepali Congress has taken the lead according to the latest vote count of State Assembly Constituency No. 1 (1) in Bajhang.

Initially, Amalesh Daman Bhandari of the CPN-UML had maintained the lead. Currently, he trails behind Singh by 264 votes.

According to the Election Commission, in the ongoing vote count so far, Singh from the Congress has garnered 7,492 votes, while Bhandari, the candidate from the CPN-UML, has received 7,228 votes.

Janak Bahadur Budha from the Maoist Centre is in third place with 2,815 votes, while Dil Bahadur Singh from the Unified Socialist Party is in fourth place with 2,102 votes.

Vote counting has been completed in Jai Prithvi Municipality, Khaptad Chhanna Rural Municipality, Chhabispathibhera Rural Municipality, Thalara Rural Municipality-9, and Surma Rural Municipality.

Vote counting remains outstanding solely in Talkot, Saipal, and Masta Rural Municipality.

Vote counting has begun in Mastha.
