Ilam-2 by-election: Bogus voting uncovered, authorities took action

KATHMANDU: During the ongoing by-election in Ilam Constituency-2, fraudulent voting has been uncovered under the name of an exit poll.
Authorities found that counterfeit ballots were prepared and used for voting within the Mahendra Ratna Multiple Campus premises in Ilam.
Upon investigation, the police confiscated materials intended for printing counterfeit ballots and disclosed that a group planned to distribute them among female students residing in the campus hostel, offering them Rs 1500 each for casting fake votes.
It was revealed that individuals who had already voted legitimately were also approached to vote again using the fake ballots.
Following this discovery, the group responsible for printing counterfeit ballots and distributing them was apprehended by the authorities.
