Armed police seize vehicle with 94 cartons of liquor

The confiscated alcohol and the vehicle taken under control have been brought to the Customs Office in Birgunj for further legal action.

KATHMANDU: The Armed Police Force, Nepal has taken control of a Tata Sumo with 94 cartons of liquor which was going to be smuggled to India at the proposed border Gulm Alau Parsa.

A team under the command of Deputy Superintendent of Armed Police Bikash Adhikari seized the liquor being illegally transported in a Tata Sumo vehicle with Indian number plate BR 10 J 8201 from Konia checkpoint located in Birgunj Metropolitan City-17 on Saturday.

The driver managed to flee the scene.
