KATHMANDU: National Assembly Vice Speaker Urmila Aryal’s resignation from the post has been accepted.

National Assembly Speaker Narayan Prasad Dahal said that his resignation from the post was accepted at the National Assembly meeting held on Friday.

Vice Chair Aryal resigned from the post before Chair Dahal on Thursday.

Speaker Dahal said – ‘I would like to inform the House of Representatives that the resignation of the Honorable Vice Chair of the National Assembly has been signed and accepted.’

Aryal, who was the vice president on behalf of CPN (Maoist Centre), resigned after the Vice Chair position fell to another party with the new power balance.

Through her resignation letter, she also thanked all those who helped her, including the Speaker of the National Assembly, MPs and officials of the Parliament Secretariat, for their support during her tenure.
