KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress Member of Parliament Binod Chaudhary has appeared the public prosecutor’s office to provide a statement regarding the alleged embezzlement case involving 10 ropani land associated with Bansbari Leather Shoes.

Following a two-hour-long session, MP Chaudhary, who also holds a prominent role in the industrial sector, briefly addressed reporters.

He expressed his discontentment, stating that the issue has now been politicized.

Chaudhary emphasized that the situation has transformed into a political spectacle and voiced his frustration, mentioning that repeatedly vouching for his character should not be necessary.

“When individuals of my stature raise such issues here, the state should take note of the message conveyed by Nepal’s entrepreneurs and taxpayers,” Chaudhary stated during his interaction with journalists after the statement. “I won’t entertain those who use my character as a stunt. Such activities discourage entrepreneurs and investors. Politics has its own ways, and I too am an elected Member of Parliament from Nawalparasi.”

He expressed that besides the distorted mindset generated by considering a perspective on the 10 ropani land as a mark of luck, there was nothing else. “If one thinks of keeping a perspective on 10 ropani land as a mark of luck, then it is nothing other than a distorted mindset.

Based on my 45 years of extensive experience, my previous roles as the former president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI), and as a thinker, I have been involved in the development policy so far. I have been active in party politics, but I have always managed differences of opinion within the party politics,” he said. He also mentioned that the intention behind the Bansbari case was to politicize entrepreneurs and investors.
