Journalists to be subsidized to buy laptops & cameras (with notice)

KATHMANDU: Press Council Nepal is going to give subsidies to journalists for the purchase of laptops and cameras.

According to the notification issued by the council on Sunday, it is said that subsidy is going to be given for the purchase of 30 laptops.

A subsidy of 40% will be provided for one laptop.

The council, which will provide a 30-to-40 percent subsidy for the purchase of six cameras, will assist ten persons with writing skills and seven with questionnaire writing.

The council has also declared that it will provide a subsidy for the development of a communication center.

According to the council, a journalist or a media outlet may apply for the only facility.

The council stated that applications can be submitted within 35 days and that distant places, local media, and districts that have not previously been available would be given first attention.
