KATHMANDU: Maina Joshi, the Vice Chair of Swamikartik Khapar Rural Municipality in Bajura, has died. Joshi, who was battling cancer, died at home on Thursday morning.

Joshi, 52, was recently treated at KIST Hospital in Lalitpur and taken home.

Joshi ran as a Nepali Congress candidate in the Baisakh 2079 local elections and was elected vice president.

Badri Pandey, Congress Joint General Minister, expressed sadness on Vice Chair Joshi’s death and stated that the meeting in Jansal on Mangsir 28 was the last.
