KATHMANDU: A young man named Asafal Kurumbang in Panchthar’s Miklajung Rural Municipality-3, Aarubote, has been reported to have fatally attacked his wife with a sharp weapon.

Police Inspector Sumeet Kushwaha, stationed at the District Police Office Panchthar, provided details of the incident, stating that Asafal Kurumbang allegedly killed his wife, Goma Fiyak, during the attempt to reconcile familial differences.
The situation escalated to a point where the mother-in-law, identified as Kanchimaya, and a local resident named Mahendra Shrestha, sustained severe injuries while attempting to intervene and control the escalating conflict.
Both injured individuals were promptly transported to B&C Hospital in Jhapa for medical treatment, according to information provided by the police.
The tragedy unfolded as Asafal Kurumbang had visited his in-laws’ residence in Aarubote, Miklajung, aiming to resolve an ongoing domestic dispute.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances leading to this unfortunate incident.
