KATHMANDU: Topi Diwas is observed in Nepal today. For the past few years, the first day of the English New Year has been observed in Nepal as Topi Diwas.

Nepali topi are particularly Bhaad-gaaule Topi and Dhaka Topi. However, different Nepalese communities wear caps that reflect their identity and tradition.
On this day, the Nepali community in Nepal and outside Nepal organized various programs to celebrate Nepali Topi Diwas with great pomp. With this wave, the number of Nepali hat wearers is increasing recently.
