Victims of earthquake forced to seek shelter under open sky (photos)

Since Friday night, residents of Jajarkot have been sleeping under the open sky.

JAJARKOT: The Friday night earthquake entirely destroyed 937 homes.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs’ Disaster Preparedness and Response Branch, 907 of the entirely damaged dwellings are in Jajarkot.

So far, 105 people have died in the Jajarkot earthquake, while 52 people have died in the Rukum West earthquake.

The victims of the earthquake are now forced to live beneath the open sky in Khalanga, the seat of Jajarkot.

Since Friday night, residents of Jajarkot have been sleeping under the open sky.

Most of the houses in the affected area have been damaged. Some houses have collapsed and some have been damaged. Due to frequent aftershocks, people have not been able to stay indoors.

The relief goods continue to arrive and even though relief tents have reached some places, the victims are forced to spend the night under the open sky without tents and in some places full of fire.
