Flights resumed at Phalgunanda Sukilumba Airport in Ilam
Although it was said flight would be resumed since Thursday, last week, it could not take place for dearth of passengers.
KATHMANDU: Flights have resumed at Ilam’s Phalgunanda Sukilumba Airport. Flights were suspended for some months and they have been resumed from today.

Nepal Airlines Sukilumba Airport Ilam’s in-charge Dinesh Sundas said that flights have been started from this airport since today morning, as there was adequate number of passengers.
According to Sundas, six passengers arrived here from Kathmandu on today’s flight while eight passengers left here for Kathmandu on that flight.
The NAC is operating flights by a 27-seater plane to Sukilumba Airport located at Ilam Municipality-9. NAC said it will operate regular flights to Sukilumba every Thursday.
Flights were suspended for about three and half months with the start of the monsoon. Now that the flights have been resumed, passengers traveling to and from here will be benefited with the arrival of big festivals like Dashain, Tihar and Chhath, among others.
It will be convenient for people of the hill districts of eastern part of the country as well as of the neighbouring Sikkim and Mirik of India to travel by air to Kathmandu and back.
