KATHMANDU: Ramaroshan, a tourist attraction in Achham, is crowded with visitors from 46 different nations.

They reached as part of a group named World Rainbow Family. Those visitors have assembled here for the intention of spending three months in Ramaroshan.

On the occasion of World Tourism Day, these tourists also took part in a Deuda dance and cultural event arranged by the Tourism Sector Development Committee.

Village Chair Man Bahadur Saud stated that the rural municipality welcomes visitors to Ramaroshan. He claims that with the presence of tourists, interest in Rama Roshan has grown.

He said that tourists are given permission to visit Ramroshan with various conditions. Foreign tourists who have come to Ramaroshan have pitched their tents in the open square.

Legend has it that this area is named Ramaroshan after two brothers named Rame and Roshan. Some people say that it was named Ramaroshan because Shiva-Parvati lived in this area. Ramaroshan Lake is a tourist lake located in Ramaroshan Rural Municipality-6 and is also known as ‘Bahra Bund, Athar Khand’. Bahr Band means the 12 lakes here and eighteen sections refer to the 18 fours here.

Dozens of Samthar branches and flowers blooming here are the attractions of Ramaroshan.

Dande, Munal, Kasturi & Jharal birds can be seen in patan (grassland in the hills).
