Tragic collision in Kailali claims the life of police constable, one injured

KATHMANDU: In a devastating road accident on the East-West highway in Chaukidanda in Godawari Municipality-3 of Kailali, a collision between a tractor and a motorcycle has resulted in the loss of a dedicated police constable’s life. The incident occurred on Sunday evening.
The deceased officer has been identified as Police Constable Kapil Kathayat, who was a valuable member of the Mahendranagar Special Security Force of Nepal Police.
As a result of the collision, PC Kapil Kathayat suffered severe injuries and, despite the best efforts of emergency responders, tragically succumbed to his injuries.
Furthermore, another police constable, identified as Hemraj Tauda, was also involved in the accident as a pillion rider on the motorcycle. He sustained injuries and has been promptly taken to Maya Metro Hospital in Dhangadhi for medical treatment.
The incident involved a tractor bearing the registration plate Sudurpaschim State 01 002 Ta 6419 and a motorcycle with the number Sudurpaschim State 01011 Pa 7320, travelling in opposite directions when the collision occurred.
The Sudurpaschim State Traffic Police Office Attariya has been investigating the circumstances leading to the accident.
