City bus operation in Birendranagar, offers affordable travel at just 20 rupees

BIRENDRANAGAR: City bus has started operation in Birendra Nagar of Surkhet. Residents of Birendranagar who had been inconvenienced by excessive fares have found comfort with the launch of the city bus.

Passengers in Birendranagar can now travel from Dhuliyabit to Bangesimal for only 20 rupees.

Surkhet Joint Transport Management has put 10 city microbuses into service in collaboration with Birendranagar Municipality.

Inaugurating the city bus, Mohanmaya Dhakal, Mayor of Birendranagar Municipality, expressed her delight that the city bus service has begun and stated that the city bus will be upgraded in the future in collaboration with United Transport.

In the first phase, the city bus will run through Birendranagar’s Dhuliyabit, Airport, Mangalgarhi Chowk, Yerichowk, Mulpani to State Hospital, Hillekhali and Bangesimal Chowk.

Besides, Ramesh Kumar Sapkota, Chair of Surkhet Kankrevihar Transport Pvt Ltd said that city buses and routes will also be added in the coming days. According to him, Rs 20 fares have been fixed to give easy and concessional travel to the passengers.

Inaugurating the city bus, Mayor Mohanmaya Dhakal paid 20 rupees and travelled from the bus park to Dhuliyabit.

Passengers are also pleased as the city bus provides a simple and convenient service.
