POKHARA: Three districts in Gandaki State are at high risk of flooding and landslides. The monsoon has put Tanahun, Syangja, and Baglung in jeopardy.

The flood-prone districts have been identified based on this year’s monsoon forecasts. Gorkha, Lamjung, Kaski, Parbat, Manang, Mustang, and Myagdi are all at moderate danger.

Floods and landslides in Himalayan districts such Manang and Mustang triggered a major disaster two years ago. Flooding is expected to be a problem in Nawalpur again this year.

Monsoon is approaching Nepal. The Gandaki government has made early efforts to mitigate the effects of the monsoon and provide prompt relief.

According to Chief Minister Surendra Raj Pandey, the finances have been organized in such a way that the state disaster fund of 10 million and the district disaster fund of 1 million would not be depleted.

Aside from that, all security services are well-resourced. Pandey stated that plans have been made to get on the scene promptly following the tragedy and assist in the rescue.
