KATHMANDU: Those who obtain a meter badge face up to 7 years in prison.

The government has changed the Nepal Act on the Civil Code to make meter-badge punishable by 7 years in prison.

An ordinance amending the Nepal Act has been issued in the gazette.

This arrangement will now be adopted. Mitigation is characterized as inappropriate transactions. If the right is transferred unfairly during the transaction, the right will be revoked and the property will be returned.

President Ram Chandra Poudel issued an ordinance to define the transaction as an offense according to the agreement with the meter abuse victim.

He issued the ordinance on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.

The ordinance came into effect on Wednesday after it was published in the gazette.
